Kutani-yaki, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, celebrates 360 years since the opening of the Kutani kiln. Kutani-yaki was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition and became famous throughout the world as Japan*Kutani, and has been collected by famous museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Louvre.

[Features]
This mug has a very beautiful transparent glass glaze and five colors.
The silver coloring matches the base color of the mug very well.
It looks more austere than the white porcelain base.
Not microwave-safe. Sparks will fly off and blacken.
[What is "Ginsai"?
Ginsai is one of the most simple and beautiful patterns in Kutaniyaki. It is said that no two silver foils applied by hand have the same pattern, and each one has a different shine. The glossy surface and the silver foil within it look even more beautiful when the light shines on them.
The glass glaze covering the silver foil inhibits oxidation of the silver and protects it from rusting, fading, and peeling, keeping it beautiful and shining forever.
The following is a brief explanation of the technique.
When silver foil is applied to a vessel, it is applied so that the edges overlap each other, and once the entire surface has been covered, the vessel is fired.
Then, a glass glaze is applied to the surface in the final step of firing. The surface is then finished with a glossy and shiny finish.
