瑞浪市では昭和30〜40年代、国内で作られる洋食器の約25%を製造し、欧米を中心に展開する世界のハイブランドの磁器をOEM製造していました。世界の名ブランドの食器を作ることで地域に蓄積された製品製造の技術をいま、ジャパネスクモダンデザインと融合し再び注目を集めています。
ほんものの素材と技術
うつわを作る土は天然の資源のため常に異なった成分です。そんな気分屋の土を陶工は見て触れて、どのように扱えばいつものように器になってくれるか想像し仕上げます。どのように機械化が進んでもよい陶磁器を作り上げるには人の力が必要になります。
また、この商品の白磁はガラス質の多い磁器土を1340度で焼き上げます。不純物を焼切るまで高温で焼き上げられた土と釉薬は、融けあい、ガラス化し、淡く透けるような光沢を生み出し、そして同時に洗いやすく、汚れにくい素材となり、道具として長く使っていただくことが可能となります。
