Description
Chopin's autograph score [[Etude] in F major, Op. 10-8], which has never been published in Japan! This book is the catalogue and book of the exhibition [[Chopin - 200 Years of Portraits]], which will travel to four museums beginning in October 2019 and continuing through 2020. It introduces objects and works of art related to Chopin, who is arguably Japan's most famous and fancied musician, and provides not only a glimpse into Chopin's 39-year life, but also why he is still so popular throughout the world. The exhibition introduces a wide range of works, from Chopin's contemporaries of the 19th century to contemporary art, and nearly 200 of the 250 works featured are from the collection of the Frederick*Chopin Museum in Poland. Among them are Chopin's autographs and letters, including [[Etude] in F major, Op. 10-8], which has never been exhibited in Japan. Op. 10-8]] is on display in Japan for the first time. Also included is Ali *Scheffer's [Portrait of Frederic *Chopin] (Dordrecht Museum collection), a well-known portrait of Chopin. In addition to explaining why Chopin is so popular in Japan and the [Chopin Reception], where Chopin was first introduced in Japan, the final chapter also includes the story of [Piano Forest] by Makoto Isshiki, popular in manga and anime, and [Honey and Thunder] by Riku Onda, double winner of the Naoki Prize and the Bookstore Grand Prize, as well as the story of the many Japanese pianists who have participated in this project. The International Chopin Piano Competition, in which many Japanese pianists have participated, will be featured. It explains the details of the competition and introduces items related to the competition. Also included as a special program is a trilogy discussion with Ikuyo Nakamichi, a pianist who has performed many Chopin works, Keiichiro Hirano, a novelist who wrote "Funeral" (Parts I and II) about Chopin, and Tokimasa Sekiguchi, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, who supervised the translation of this book into Polish and continues to translate Chopin's letters. 本書は、2019年10月を皮切りに2020年まで美術館4館を巡回する「ショパン — 200年の肖像」展の図録兼書籍。
日本でもっとも有名でファンの多い音楽家と言っても過言ではないショパンにまつわる品々や美術品を紹介し、ショパンの39年という生涯を垣間見るだけでなく、ショパンがなぜ今でも全世界で親しまれているのかがわかる内容。
ショパンと同時代の19世紀の作品から現代アートまで幅広くご紹介するが、掲載作品点数約250点中200点近くが、ポーランドのフレデリク・ショパン博物館所蔵の作品。この中には、門外不出のショパンの自筆譜や自筆書簡も含まれており、中でも「《エチュード》ヘ長調 作品10-8」は日本初公開。
また、ショパンの肖像画として有名なアリ・シェフェールの《フレデリク・ショパンの肖像》(ドルトレヒト美術館蔵)も掲載。
