| These earrings are made of baby Akoya pearls, which are rare and highly valued. The production of baby pearls requires a very high level of technology and the amount of pearls raised on the beach is very small. 2mm size pearls account for less than 0.01% of the total production of cultured pearls in Japan, 3mm size pearls for 1.5%, 4mm size pearls for 2.5%, and 5mm size pearls for 3.5%. They are extremely rare, accounting for only 6.5% of the total production volume. |
