Description
Murasaki Kuromai Straw Pots and Pans, woven one by one by skilled straw craftsmen. Straw potsherds are woven one by one by skilled straw craftsmen in the Tohoku region. This potsherd has a neat impression with a flat profile that is not too bulky, and is a cute piece to just hang on the wall. The doughnut shape also stabilizes pots with round bottoms. Straw crafting is a technique traditionally inherited by the Japanese, whose staple food is rice. In recent years, the number of craftsmen who carry on the art of straw work has decreased, and the only straw work we see anymore is for New Year's decorations. Why not incorporate Japanese straw crafts, which have been handed down since ancient times, into your daily life, not only during the New Year's holiday? Thick straw pots and pans are especially suitable for Nambu ironware. Please use it by laying it on iron kettles, ironware frying pans, and iron pots. In the season of hot pots, it is also wonderful to use with earthenware pots and pans. Murasaki Kuromai Straw pots and pans are made from Murasaki Kuromai, a rare type of ancient rice. We cultivate the purple-black rice selected from among many varieties for this potsherd in order to enjoy the original black color of straw without using any chemicals. It is not actually pitch black, but a deep purple. The color is easily affected by the climate of the year and is a color of Japanese origin that only comes out when the rice is dried quickly and not exposed to the sun. There are three sizes available, so please choose the potsherd of your choice. *wara design laboratory, a brand of straw crafts for modern life that focuses on 100% domestically produced straw. Since ancient times, straw crafts have been an indispensable part of Japanese people's lives. Using the straw from rice, the staple food of Japan, they have made, loved, respected, and returned to the earth as tools for daily life, decorations, and sometimes as sacred objects. This brand conveys the charm of straw crafts and the skills of its makers by designing products that fit in with today's lifestyles, while retaining the wisdom and warmth of our ancestors. |
