Description
*Please place a minimum order of 3 pens from fountain pens. The colors on the surface of the body, "indigo" and "violet ore," are applied to aluminum using a special technique. The coloring of metal with natural dyes is a technique that cannot be seen in Japan, and is the result of the research and development capabilities of a manufacturing company that has been cultivated over many years. The coloring is done under the strict control of craftsmen, who apply the natural dyes to the metal. The subtle differences in color that occur depending on the timing of the coloring are a result of the use of natural dyes. It can be said that this is one of the "aji" of natural dyes. On the surface of the body, craftsmen carefully and painstakingly apply the traditional hammering technique one by one. The hand-drawn patterns on the surface give it a warm and tasteful texture, and when illuminated by light, it looks as if stars are scattered all over the surface. This hammering process is called "rough hammering," and is a method of creating a fine texture on the surface of the body by daring to hit the surface of the hammer with a rough hammer. Only a craftsman can achieve this technique, and the beautifully hand-hammered surface is unique. Indigo is a natural dye used in indigo dyeing, and it is said that the cultivation and dyeing methods were introduced from China around the 7th century. The "blue" in indigo dyeing is called "Japan*blue." It originated when Atkinson, an English scientist who came to Japan in the early Meiji period (1868-1912), described the town as "Japan*blue" when it was colored indigo. It can be imagined that indigo has been a symbolic color of Japan since that time, and this traditional dye continues to appeal to the world today. Shikoku" was introduced from overseas as a medicine and dye in the Nara period (710-794), and many shikoku dyes are still used in textile dyeing at Horyuji Temple and Shosoin Temple, and are still preserved at Shosoin Temple under the name "Shikyo" (purple stalk). |
