| The size of a general zabuton (Meisenban) is [55cm x 59cm], but the small zabuton is a size smaller [45cm x 42cm]. Because of this size, it can serve as both a zabuton and a cushion in one piece. There are many households that do not need to prepare a separate zabuton, but want to use it when they have guests. This is a product that combines the comfort of sitting on a floor cushion with a look that fits in with Western lifestyles. The special feature of Platz's zabuton is its seating comfort. The structure allows pressure from the top to escape to the sides, which results in firm pressure dispersion. It is easy to put pressure on your buttocks, and you can spend a comfortable time even if you sit for a long time. Indian cotton, which is strong and suitable for cushioning, and hollow fiber, which is excellent in moisture dissipation, are used for the filling. It is fluffy, does not get damp, and does not wear out easily even after prolonged use. About Platz Platz Co., Ltd. was established in Nishijin in the 1887's and opened a store in Saga Arashiyama when the processing factory was relocated. Platz's handmade cushions have been featured in anan, Sarai, Figaro Japon, etc.... 自然素材の心地良さにこだわって、
温もりのあるものづくりを目指しています。
座布団は畳に由来します。古代の畳は寝具と座具の両方を兼ねており、身分や権威を表す物で、その座具としての部分が座布団の原型ともいえる茵（しとね）へと発達していきました。
鎌倉時代になると、綿の輸入の再開と、生産技術の向上により、側地に布を使うようになり、江戸中期頃には生地の中に綿を入れたほぼ現在の形になりました。しかし庶民に普及したのは、大正時代になってからのことです。
