Description
| The hole-less round seat is an improved version of the regular doughnut-shaped round seat that distributes weight more evenly and softens the buttocks in the form of a lid over the hole, making it less uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. This product can be washed by hand at home. [About Platz] Platz Co., Ltd. was established in Nishijin in the 1887's and set up store in Saga Arashiyama following the relocation of its processing factory. Platz's handmade cushions have been featured in anan, Sarai, Figaro Japon, etc.... Our handmade zabuton have been introduced in many magazines, TV, FM, AM, etc., and are also used in temples, shrines, and famous ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurants) throughout Japan. 【プラッツのお座布団】
自然素材の心地良さにこだわって、
温もりのあるものづくりを目指しています。
座布団は畳に由来します。古代の畳は寝具と座具の両方を兼ねており、身分や権威を表す物で、その座具としての部分が座布団の原型ともいえる茵（しとね）へと発達していきました。
鎌倉時代になると、綿の輸入の再開と、生産技術の向上により、側地に布を使うようになり、江戸中期頃には生地の中に綿を入れたほぼ現在の形になりました。しかし庶民に普及したのは、大正時代になってからのことです。
