| [Material: Beech] The entire surface is made of beech, a high-grade material often used for Scandinavian furniture. Beech wood, with its beautiful grain, is actually very difficult to work. It is hard and prone to warping unless it is dried thoroughly. Gastrock dries beech wood in its own facilities for as long as three years before processing. After the drying process, the beech wood becomes resilient and unbreakable, and is of the highest quality. [Special Processing] The decorative carving on the top of the shaft is handmade by craftsmen. The beautiful mixture of light and dark browns is also one of the craftsmen's techniques. This decoration, called "antique processing," is finished using a burning iron and a burner. The process of finishing the piece while carefully observing the grain and expression of the wood is like that of an artist finishing a painting. |

【こだわり加工】
シャフト上部に施された装飾彫りは職人の手作業。また淡いブラウンと濃いブラウンの入れ混じった美しい演出も匠の技の一つです。アンティーク加工と呼ばれるこの装飾は焼きゴテとバーナーを使って仕上げられます。木目や表情を見極めながら仕上げていく工程はまるで絵画を仕上げる芸術家の様。
