| [Ebony grip] The grip is made of ebony, one of the three most famous karaki woods. Ebony is a very rare wood that grows very slowly, and it is said to take 200 years to grow to 18 cm in diameter. Its material is extremely dense, hard, heavy, and durable. It is also highly valued as a good luck charm because of its resistance to insect damage and its meaning of "eternal decay. It is a rare and carefully selected material that becomes more lustrous the more it is polished and used for a long time, and the more it is used, the more it gains in dignity. [The shaft is made of beech wood.] The entire shaft is made of beech, a high-grade material often used for Scandinavian furniture. Beech wood is so flexible and hard to break that it was used for ski boards in the past, but it is actually a difficult material to process. It is hard, and if it is not dried thoroughly, it tends to warp. At Gastrock, we dry the lumber in our own facilities for as long as three years before processing. After the drying process, the beech wood becomes resilient and unbreakable, and is of the highest quality. This product is slightly thinner with a diameter of 14 mm and coated with black. グリップ部分には唐木三大銘木に数えられる黒檀を使用した贅沢な仕立てです。黒檀は非常に成長が遅く直径18センチに成長するのに200年かかると言われる大変希少な木材です。その材質は極めて緻密で、堅く、重く、耐久性に優れた木材です。虫害にも強く「永久に朽ちる事の無い」の意味から縁起物としても重宝されます。磨けば磨くほど艶が増し長く使えば使うほど風格を増す希少な厳選素材です。
【シャフトにはブナ材】
北欧家具にも多く使われる高級素材、ブナをシャフト全面に使用。ブナ材は古くはスキーの板に使われる程しなりがあり折れにくい性質を持ちますが、実は加工が難しい素材でもあります。硬い上にしっかりと乾燥させないと反りやすい性質を持ち合わせます。ガストロック社では加工する前の材木を何と3年もの歳月かけ自社施設にてしっかりと乾燥させます。万全の乾燥処理を経たブナ材は弾力があって折れにくい最高品質へと生まれ変わります。本品ではやや細めの直径14ミリに仕立てブラックコーティングを施しました。黒檀に螺鈿をあしらったゴージャスなグリップをスマート且つエレガントに引き立たせます。
