In 2002, FINECRAFT Ltd. was established in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Seki City is called "3S of cutlery" along with Solingen and Sheffield. It is known as one of the world's leading cutlery production centers, and has been producing cutlery since the Kamakura period. Seki has inherited the history of Japanese swords, which are said to be "unbreakable, unbendable, and sharp" since the Kamakura period (1185-1333), and has been producing and selling them along with the tradition of Seki swordsmithing. The tradition of Seki swordsmithing has evolved with the times, and we continue to produce high quality cutlery to this day. Although Fine Craft is still in its infancy as a company, it has been in the business of making high quality cutlery since its inception. We have inherited the skills of our predecessors, who were scissors craftsmen, and we have been making high-quality blades one by one. We have been manufacturing each and every blade carefully by hand. |
