Description
| Illustrations are printed on thick aluminum plates. This is King Kamehameha I, who united the Hawaiian Islands and became the first king. He is sometimes called King Kamehameha the Great. The red and yellow cape and helmet are made from the feathers of a small bird called mitsui, which is endemic to Hawaii. The mantle and helmet are on display at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, so be sure to visit the museum to see the real thing. The plate is neither too small nor too large. The size is perfect for Japanese home decor. *There are holes at the top and bottom for decoration. |
