Description
| Now is the time to protect a healthy ocean (l'Oce_an) The Tara, a scientific exploration vessel that travels the world The trail of a joint project by agnès*bay. The Tara travels the world's oceans to explore them like the great explorers of the 18th and 19th centuries. Each time there are 14 to 16 people on board. They are professional sailors, scientists, researchers, engineers, technicians, and artists and journalists. So far, they have explored more than 500,000 km of oceans in exploration projects in collaboration with top international research institutes and organizations such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA. As a result, they have discovered more than 100,000 species of protozoan microalgae in the ocean and elucidated nearly 150 million genes, determined the amount of plastic trash in European rivers, and gradually revealed the current status in marine ecosystems and environmental issues that were still unknown. In this book, he recounts his 20-year voyage on the Tara and the results it produced. A passionate activity, and a book that conveys the beauty and importance of nature and its role that the earth still holds in store. |
