Description
| Aiming to be closer to the original Beauty in Everyday Life|Sori Yanagi Japanese Tableware Series Sori Yanagi, one of Japan's leading industrial designers, established Yanagi Shop in Sendagaya, Tokyo (1972) as a means of communicating his ideas directly to users. At that time, this Japanese tableware series (1975) was designed as the store's original product. [Mr. Yanagi, who had avoided patterned decoration until then, thought that "the shape itself is the pattern," but this Japanese tableware has a design with a whirlpool pattern inspired by the Naruto whirlpools. On the other hand, a plain version supervised by the Yanagi Design Institute is also available for this reissue. This reissue reproduces the bluish white porcelain of the original. We have tried to reproduce the original form as close to the original as possible, even though the form has changed over the years due to the transition of manufacturing plants (workshops). On the other hand, improvements have been made to improve usability without affecting the form, such as applying glaze to the back of the lid of the kyusu, which was unglazed at the time, to prevent staining. During the period of Japan's postwar recovery and economic growth, Mr. Yanagi continued his design activities to "deliver beautiful, high-quality daily necessities to the masses. Even today, half a century later, the value of his work has not only remained unchanged, but seems to have taken on even greater importance. Yanagi's series of Japanese tableware is not a "special work of art by a designer," but a "beautiful daily necessities for everyone. We hope you will take a look at them. ___________________________________________ [Pot, teapot, made in Japan] |
