In the fall of 2025, Seigensha will publish the long-awaited Japanese edition of the series! The first volume will simultaneously publish [Monet] and [Van Gogh]. The second and third editions will be published one after another. Vincent van Gogh was born in a small town in Holland, and was not blessed with work or love, nor was he saved by his faith. His only source of emotional support was painting. In the midst of poverty and loneliness, supported by his brother Theo, who was the only person who understood him throughout his life, Van Gogh continued to create, but he became mentally ill, cut off his own ear, and eventually died. It was only after his death that his talent was recognized. This book traces Van Gogh's short life of 37 years, filled with sadness, anguish, and undiscovered talent, along with the works he painted in each era. The book includes [View of the Sea at Sgeffeningen] (1882), [Farmer Planting Potatoes] (1885), [Weaver, Front View] (1884), [People Eating Potatoes] (1885), [Japanese Hobby: Bridge in the Rain (by Hiroshige)] (1887), [Portrait of Old Tanguy] (1887-88) ), [Sunflowers] (1888), [Drawbridge at Arles (Langlois Bridge)] (1888), [Café at Night] (1888), [Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear] (1889), [Vincent's Bedroom] (1889), [Flowering Almond Branches] (1890), and 74 other masterpieces plus A detailed chronology is included at the end of the book. |
