Description
| At first glance, the cover of Yoshinori Mizutani's book [HDR_nature] features a photo that looks like an abstract painting. This book contains a series of nature photographs in which Mizutani has taken on the challenge of using the latest camera technology to create unprecedented nature photographs. In this day and age when anyone can take pictures, there are countless photographs that capture the universal and familiar theme of [nature], and it is not easy to create something new. This work, which can be considered Mizutani's newest breakthrough, as the title suggests, uses HDR (High Dynamic Range Composition), a feature available in recent digital cameras that takes multiple shots with different exposures, extracts the best parts from them, and combines them to create a single image that closely resembles how it appears to the naked eye. The result is a single image that is close to how it appears to the naked eye. Mizutani intentionally moves the camera to take the shot, aiming to automatically combine multiple images at the moment of camera shake to produce an image never seen before. This series, which utilizes such digital technology in a unique way, adds another page to the photographic expression that has always moved forward with the advancement of technology. |
