Description
| Catalog published in connection with IMA gallery's third exhibition [THE STREET GOES ON]. This is a photo book containing some of the works presented in the project [Station to Station] by contemporary artist Doug *Aiken. In this project, artists, writers, and filmmakers exhibited their works and gave performances at each destination stop during a three-week chartered train journey from New York to San Francisco. For this project, Shore walked around and photographed the town of Winslow, Arizona, which he revisited after 40 years since his seminal [American Surfaces] series, and intentionally avoided editing both the photographs themselves and the sequences, which allowed the act of photography itself to be sublimely improvisational. The act of photography itself has been sublimated into a work of improvisation. This photo book contains 64 of the most representative images from the show. |
