Description
| Kazuto Ishikawa's [Humanity] series is based on the theme of what identity means in the information society. In this series, the photographed subject is printed out on a transparent sheet with a large amount of ink, and the ink is mixed and the outline of the subject is lost by overlaying the image over and over again while it is still half-dried. Ishikawa believes that the vivid colors created from this process represent the identity of the subject, and he adds layers to his work by producing this process in a very analog manner. He uses a large-format photo book to confront each piece of work and reproduce its details in great detail. |
