1927年 オランダ ユトレヒト市生まれ。
パブロ・ピカソやアンリ・マティス、フェルナン・レジェ、
デ・ステイルなどに影響を受けた、
パッと一瞬で引きつけるようなシンプルな線と明解な色彩
『ブルーナカラー』で独自のスタイルを確立しました。
ブルーナカラーには、赤・青・白・緑色・黄色、
後年にはゾウの色を付ける灰色、
そしてクマや犬を描くための茶色が付け加えられました。
作品に登場するキャラクターのほとんどは
