The history of the Kishu Nell
About 250 years ago of Meiwa era (1764-1772), Kishu has flourished as a producer of the fabric of protection against the cold for the "root rot". Cotton cloth of soft, warm and thick cloth that was brushed with pine needle is, at that time, has been very useful. 紀州ネルの歴史
約250年前の明和時代（1764-1772）、紀州は防寒用の布地「紋羽」の産地として栄えました。松葉で起毛させたやわらかで暖かな厚地の綿布は、当時、大変重宝されました。やがてヨーロッパの文化が徐々に広がると、紀州では紋羽の伝統技術を生かした、より軽やかで近代的な生地が誕生しました。それが「紀州ネル」の始まりとされています。
保湿、保温に優れているのが特徴です。
デザイナー：中島 篤
2004年に渡仏し、ジャンポールゴルチェ直属のアシスタントやディフュージョンラインのヘッドデザイナーを務め7年間キャリアを積む。
帰国後、自身のブランド「ATSUSHI NAKASHIMA」を立ち上げ、2012年位Mercedesz-Bens Fashion Week TOKYOでコレクションを発表し、DHLデザインアワードを受賞するなど今注目を集めるデザイナー。
