縁起の良さを体現した愛らしい姿。
「信楽狸八相縁喜」にもあるように、様々なご利益があるとされている置物です。
また、狸の語呂合わせで「他を抜く」という願いを込め、商売繁盛の縁起物として、お店の軒先にもよく並べられています。
1951年（昭和26年）、昭和天皇が信楽行幸時に信楽の沿道に並ぶ狸の置物に感銘を受け、歌を詠んだ事から全国的に広まった信楽名物です。
【信楽狸八相縁喜】
「笠」…思わざるは悪事災難避けるため用心常に身を守る笠
「目」…何事も前後左右に気を配り正しく見つむる事を忘れめ
「顔」…世は広く互いに愛想よく暮らし道を以って務め励まん
「徳利」…恵まれし飲食のみにこと足利て徳はひそかに我につけん
「通」…世渡りは先ず信用が第一ぞ活動常に四通八達
「腹」…物事は常に落ちつきさりながら決断力の大胆をもて
「金袋」…金銭の宝は自由自在なる運用をなせ運用をなせ
「尾」…なに事も終わりは大きくしっかりと身を立てるこそ真の幸福
信楽焼とは…
本州のド真ん中、滋賀県は琵琶湖の南、鈴鹿山脈のおしりの部分にある甲賀市の山里、
信楽(シガラキ)町で造られている陶器です。
信楽焼は、1260年もの永い歴史があり、各時代の生活に合わせて様々に変化をしてきました。
茶道具や甕壷・花器、火鉢、植木鉢や傘立て、食器や神仏具等の日用品にいたるまで。
みなさんご存知の大きなタヌキもしかり…
独特の土質を活かして現在も多様に変化を続けています。
この味わい深く、安らぎを持ったやきものが皆様のお気に入りのひとつになる事を願っております。
