Description
| The Michinoku Aizu papier-mâché dolls have a 400-year history. The body of the papier-mâché doll is removed from the mold and covered with several layers of Japanese paper, then coated with a base coat of powdered shells and gofun, a paste made from powdered shells and nikawashi, and then coated with a top coat of nikawashi dissolved in dye. This beckoning cat has a traditional form, with only a simple dot pattern painted on the surface. Each "Maneki Dot Neko" is carefully handmade one by one by craftsmen of Nozawa Folk Crafts Enterprise Association, with the wish that "Doh! and wish for prosperous business. With its handmade texture and modern design that fits in with modern life, it has a new charm as a new local toy. Simple and heartwarming [maneki dot neko]. 張子は、型から取り出した本体に何層も和紙を重ね、その上に、粉にした貝殻とニカワで練った胡粉を下塗りし、さらに染料を溶いたニカワを上塗りします。
