Description
Kyoto boasts a long history in Japan. Among them is the Kyoto fan, which has been loved by people for about 1,200 years and is now famous as a traditional handicraft. [Kyo Senshi" is a trademark that indicates only those products made of Japanese materials, mainly from Kyoto, and finished by skilled craftsmen in Japan through 88 processes. The paper for the fan is painted and dyed in layers with liquid extracted from astringent persimmon, a technique that has been used since ancient times, and is a time-consuming process that plays an excellent role in reinforcing, waterproofing, and preserving the paper. The carefully selected bamboo called "naka-kotsu" has more number of bones than a common fan, so it bends well and the soft wind will beckon you to your skin. The coloring of each piece of bamboo is different, giving it a rich expression, and as it ages, it changes its color and luster with texture. The pure silk kyokumihimo string attached to the key part of the bracelet, which is said to be the origin of the word "kanshin kyokumihimo," is an original one made exclusively for this item. The attached fan bag, which is convenient for carrying and storing the fan, gives it a gorgeous appearance when it is out of the fan bag. Since olden times, the "suehagari" shape has meant prosperity and is said to bring good luck, and it is used for all kinds of celebrations and as a high-quality gift. It is an indispensable representative of Japan, appearing at every celebration and milestone in one's life. *Size: 7" (approx. 21cm) for both men and women |
