Description
It is carefully crafted by artisans in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, a pottery production center with a history of over 400 years. What is a hobin? A teapot without a handle. Therefore, it is suitable for brewing high-grade tea leaves, mainly gyokuro, kabusecha, and hand-rubbed tea, at low temperatures to slowly bring out their flavor and make them delicious. As one of the kyusu that changes mood and atmosphere and carefully brews tea, it is valued as a tea utensil that shows the delicate care of the Japanese people. In addition to drinking the tea, the tea leaves are eaten with a small amount of soup stock, ponzu (Japanese citrus juice), or sudachi (Japanese citrus fruit) at the end to fully enjoy the nutritional benefits of the tea leaves. The lid is serrated to serve as a tea strainer, and has holes near the spout to improve air convection for easy pouring and spreading of tea leaves for better brewing. The wide bore also makes it easy to wash. In the midst of your busy daily life, why not relax and refresh yourself by spending time carefully making a cup of tea and relaxing? *Sanada cord Sanada-himo is a flat, narrow, bag-shaped cord woven with thick cotton threads in warp and weft, which has been valued for its durability and resistance to stretching, and is a valuable traditional craft. Since ancient times, it has been used as a cord to fasten important items such as sword cord, armor ornaments, obi clasps for kimono, and strings for paulownia boxes of tea ceremony utensils. *Paulownia Box Paulownia boxes are made by craftsmen who restore items from the collections of museums and art galleries. It has long been revered as a tree of good luck and happiness. It is said to have a low combustibility, with an ignition point of over 400°C. There are stories of clothing and other important items in paulownia chests surviving fire and flood damage. In addition, because of its resistance to insects and corrosion, paulownia wood has been used for many years as a box for storing antiques and works of art. In addition, because of its low elongation and shrinkage rates and minimal deviation, it is less susceptible to the temperature and humidity of the airtight outside environment, making it suitable for long-term storage and preservation of important items even in Japan's four seasons. |
