Description
[Chef's Tableware for Enjoying Food]. Japanese food has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and is attracting attention from all over the world as a unique traditional food culture. Japanese food is a "custom" related to food based on the Japanese disposition to respect nature. Due to Japan's long geographical distance from north to south, food has been nurtured along with the diverse cultures, techniques* and tools of each region. The richness of the changing seasons has also been incorporated and enjoyed as a form of "beauty," and people have deepened their bonds with each other through food. This "custom" is not only Japanese, but is also tolerant of diverse food cultures from around the world. I believe this is the reason why various Japanese restaurants have been expanding* overseas in recent years, and "Japanese tableware," which has evolved along with food, is now at the point where it can show its strength. All we can do is to knead clay and make vessels. This series is a message from Shigaraki in the form of "vessels". The charm of Shigaraki ware is the beauty of imperfection and inhomogeneity in a good sense, which is the universe itself. It contains a gentleness and warmth that cannot be produced by machines. It is a pottery that appeals to the heart, which does not exist in rationalization or optimization. It has an innocent taste that cannot be found in any other production area, the wonder of materials that honestly capture the perfection of the maker, and the expression of colors that reflect the foodstuffs.... Try serving food once. We want to respond to the messages from chefs around the world. We want to share joy, happiness, and excitement with those who enjoy food. And we want to be a vessel that brings people together. The joy of eating and the passion for cooking are shared by professionals and amateurs alike. Food is a play and a drama. It is up to the director and actors to make it both sweet and sour. What we can do is to provide various small and large utensils, a stage, and music to assist in the production. When the food is served and the audience sees [the finished story], they will be surprised at how their hearts move. Shigaraki ware is generous and bold, cozying up to diversity. Japanese tableware that connects something to something else. I believe that Shigaraki is the one and only pottery in the world that represents Japan. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Ibushi no Utsuwa] ≪The "dull and shining dignified taste" is a great stage to enhance the dishes. [Hechimon" is a Shigaraki craftsman's word for "windswept things". The name Hechimon comes from a Shigaraki craftsman's word that means "windswept things".
