作品紹介
『ちびまる子ちゃん』は、さくらももこによる日本の漫画・同作品を原作とするテレビアニメ。また本作の主人公のニックネームでもある。
静岡県清水市(現 静岡県静岡市清水区)を舞台に小学校3年生のまる子と家族や友だちとのほのぼのとした日常を、楽しく、面白く、時に切なく描いた心温まる作品です。
テレビアニメ、映画ともに人気を博したほか、連載されていた漫画『りぼん』のコミックスの中では通巻最高発行部数（3000万部以上）を記録。
1990年のキャラクター商品の売上額は年間100億円以上を記録した。1991年には700億円に達したとされており、「人間キャラは売れない」という業界のジンクスを覆した。
