[Craftsman House No. 70] All Craftsman House coffee cups and plates are made at kilns in Mino and Seto. Please enjoy the handiwork of kilns with various techniques.

*Mino-Yaki
Mino ware has a long history, dating back more than 1,300 years. At first, Sue ware techniques were introduced from the Korean peninsula. In the Heian period (10th century), ceramics with an ash glaze known as shirashi (white porcelain) began to be fired.
Shirashi was an improved version of Sue ware with a glaze. From this time, the number of kilns increased and the area became a full-fledged pottery production area. From the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early Edo period, pottery reflecting the tastes of tea masters was produced along with the popularity of the tea ceremony.
