Description
*Comes in a paulownia wood box, ideal as a gift [Water-based pigment ink] [Spare ink type] Writing distance: 50 to 100m *Akane, the color of the sun and life Akane, the color of the sun and life, is the endemic color of Japan. Here in Nara, there are many Akane-dyed treasures, such as the red thread Odoshi large armor of the Kamakura period left in Kasuga Taisha Shrine, as well as in Horyuji Temple and Shosoin Temple. However, it is said that this Akane-dyeing technique ceased to exist after the Muromachi period (1333-1573). Akiko Miyazaki, who succeeded in reproducing this ancient technique of the Nara period, dyed the antlers of deer cut off at the deer horn cutting ceremony in Akane color. When dyeing silk cloth, colors ranging from light Akane to scarlet are produced in three to five dyeing processes, but this time the deer antlers were dyed seven times in layers to achieve a deep vermilion color with a sense of transparency. Deer antlers dyed with Japanese Akane, which is indigenous to Japan, will give you a deep and lustrous red color as you hold them in your hands.
