桜色：古来より、赤の色を得るために用いられてきたのが貝殻虫です。貝殻虫はその体内に赤色の色素を含んでおり、それを採集して染料としてきました。今回は、その貝殻虫の一種である「ラック」を用いて、鹿角を桜色に染めていただきました。
花水木色：桜色に染めた鹿角を、その上から繰り返し貝殻虫の一種である「ラック」を用いて染め重ねることによって、花水木の花の色を表現していただきました。淡い色は染めていく段階で濃度調節が難しい為、色目を確認しながらゆっくりと染め上げていかなければなりません。頬をほんのり薄紅色に染めたような花水木の色をお楽しみ頂けます。
青竹色：鹿角をまず、槐で黄色が濃くなりすぎないように注意を払いながら染め、さらに藍で染め重ねて青竹色にしていただきました。
