This 2-way bag is made of a patchwork of indigo-dyed cloth of the Mosi tribe and indigo tie-dyed cloth of the Bamileke tribe.

*Mossi Tribe
The Mossi are an ethnic group living in the savanna region of West Africa, centering on Burkina Faso, and are well known for their lack of writing. Instead of writing, they use drum language, which is said to be able to convey complex messages and subtle nuances that cannot be conveyed in words.

*Indigo Dyeing of the Mossi Tribe
Handwoven on horizontal looms widely used in West Africa, narrow strips of cloth are sewn together horizontally to form one large piece of cloth. Yorubaindigo or Indian indigo is used for indigo dyeing, and the natural dyeing process is still carried on today. Women spin cotton into yarn, which is then woven into cloth by men. The indigo dyer then dyes the cloth.

*Bamileke indigo tie-dyed cloth
This indigo-dyed cloth is made by the Bamileke people living in the southwestern part of Cameroon. The cloth is made of cotton fabric woven 5-6 cm wide and sewn together to form a cloth 80-200 cm in size, which is then tie-dyed with indigo. The men draw patterns on the cloth, and the women sew and tie the patterns with raffia fibers and dye them with indigo. The patterns are often combined with various motifs, such as those of a king's chamber or temple, farmland, or animals.

Notes

Some trading conditions may be applicable only in Japan.

The photo is an image only.
Patterns and colors may differ from those in the photos.
There is some error in size
Because it is a product that uses old cloth, there is the case that there is a scrape * dirt, etc.
There is the case that there is color fading because it is natural dyeing. Please explain to the customer at the time of sale so that you can be careful when combining with light-colored clothing or storing at home.
The reverse side is made of indigo-dyed fabric from Thailand, not indigo-dyed fabric from the Mosi tribe.
