【有松絞りとは-About Arimatsu Shibori-】
絞りの町、有松は江戸時代のはじめ、徳川家康が江戸に幕府を開いてまもない
慶長13年(1608年)に、絞り開祖、竹田庄九朗らによって誕生しました。
有松絞り400年の歴史は、尾張藩が有松絞りを藩の特産品として保護し、
竹田庄九朗を御用商人に取り立てたことからはじまりました。
旅人が故郷への土産にと、きそって絞りの手拭、浴衣などを買い求め、
これが街道一の名産品となり、その繁盛ぶりは、北斎や広重の浮世絵に画かれ、
名産有松絞りと謳われました。
伝統の絞り技法は100種にも及び、有松・鳴海絞りは日本の絞り生産量のうち、
約90%以上も占めています。
400年の創意工夫が国内はもとより、世界でも最高の技術を現代まで
受け継がれた由縁であります。
