Description
The traditional craftwork "Edo Kiriko" designated by the country is a traditional craftwork of Tokyo downtown continuing from the Edo period. Edge Kiriko craftsmen with skillful techniques will carefully cut (shave) the glass one by one finishing up the glass melting at 1350 degrees with a skilled technique into a transparent structure and a colored glass double structure. By cutting it you can see the inner transparent glass from the surface color glass and the splendid contrast of transparent and colored glass will emerge with traditional patterns and flower facet design. |

1350度で溶けているガラスを熟練の技で透明と色ガラスの二重構造に仕上げ、巧みの技を持つ江戸切子の職人が一つ一つ丁寧にグラスをカット(削る)していきます。
カットすることにより表面の色ガラスから内側の透明なグラスが見えてきて、透明と色ガラスの素晴しいコントラストが、伝統の文様や花切子のデザインで浮き上がります。
