「飛び出しくん」とは、交通安全啓発を目的として通学路などに設置されている看板・人形のことで、「飛び出し坊や」などとも呼ばれています。(正式名称は存在しない! )
魅力は、かわいらしさとエキセントリックさ、手作り感や遊び心、ウケ狙いではない不作為のおかしさにあると言えますが、そんな飛び出しくんの世界に魅了されたのが著者の関将氏。
