| Carved from carefully selected fine wood Ballpoint pen with a beautiful grain of wood, Hananashi/Karin [Anecdote] It is said that planting a quince tree in the front of a garden and an oak tree in the back is good for business prosperity. [Features] Reddish brown? The annual rings are clearly marked. It has a dark and light striped pattern, and rarely produces a beautiful bumpwood. It is heavy and hard, but easy to work. 庭の表にカリンを植え、裏にカシノキを植えると商売繁盛に良いと伝えられる。
＜特徴＞
紅褐色?黄褐色で年輪は明瞭。濃淡な縞模様があり、稀に美しい瘤木が出る。
狂いや割れも少なく、重く硬いが加工性は良い。交差木理なので、逆目が出やすく鉋をかける際は注意が必要。磨くと艶が出るが経年変化は少ない。
＜用途＞
家具、器具、楽器、唐木仏壇など。建材としては床柱・床廻り材などに、車輌材としては羽目板・床張、などに用いられる。
