| A pattern of finely laid petals of small chrysanthemums [mujina chrysanthemum]. The unique texture using Ise-katagami and the beautiful colors are gorgeously expressed in this shizome hand towel. [What is Ise-katagami?] Ise-katagami is a paper pattern used for kimono stencil dyeing. It is a traditional craft (tool) with a history of more than 1,000 years, in which patterns are engraved by various hand-carving techniques. The patterns are delicate, beautiful, and intricate, and are created by the outstanding skills of craftspeople. These patterns have a variety of meanings, and one can feel the profound spirit of the Japanese people, who express their feelings and the four seasons through their patterns. Inspired by this traditional technique, we have created Kaya's original tenugui. *Tenugui hand towels made with the traditional technique [chusen] born in the Meiji era*. Traditions passed down from generation to generation. Unchanging techniques. Evolving designs through the ages. Japanese hand towels. The "blotting" and "blurring" produced by hand-dyeing.
