アマビエは江戸時代から肥後国(熊本県)の海に伝わる半人半魚の妖怪で、疫病封じにご利益があると言われています。
薬師窯のアマビエは、厄除消除の「的ばかい」で有名な有明海に面した熊本県長洲町にある四王子神社にて無病息災のご祈願をしており、その証明として守護証を背面に貼付しています。
