| This letter set has an elegant Japanese world view and unique design. For both pen* and brush. Made of Echizen Japanese paper carefully selected for writing comfort. The rhombus is a prestigious yushoku pattern that was used to decorate the clothing and furnishings of court nobles. It is said to have originated from the water chestnut plant (a plant that bears hard, sharp thorny fruits and is believed to ward off evil spirits). It is said to be derived from a plant called "Hishi" (a plant that bears hard, sharp, thorny fruit and is believed to ward off evil). The shape of the crest is made to resemble a vivid camellia flower. The camellia is a sacred tree that heralds spring and represents protection from evil, development, and longevity. |
