| [Ethical Collection Participating Products] REREX down products are made of REREX down carefully polished with abundant underground water in Yamanashi Prefecture. Through these activities, REREX has been certified as a "Yamanashi SDGs Promotion Company" since 2023. In addition to daily use, we also recommend them for celebrations for moving for higher education or employment, as a spare for guests, as a gift, and as prizes for events and games such as wedding parties* and year-end parties. *REREEX down Reused feathers are down removed from down products that have reached the end of their useful life, and then dusted* washed* dried at high temperatures and refined* recycled, making them an environmentally and animal friendly, safe and sustainable material. The cleanliness of REREX down is over 1500mm. It is washed to at least three times the level of the new wool shipping acceptance line set by JIS standards. *Recycling of down The strength of recycling down in Japan is not only that it is eco-friendly. Down that has been washed and imported from overseas, where hard water is abundant, can be regenerated in a cleaner state by being washed down to the smallest detail in Japan's soft water, which has finer particles. After prolonged use of futons and clothes, oil and grease (source of smell)* damaged feathers* dust and other miscellaneous substances separate from the feathers, and these are thoroughly removed. After cleaning, the feathers are dried at once at high temperature for a fluffy finish. The water from Yamanashi and Japanese advanced technology recycle down as a better resource. *SDGs Initiatives The twelfth goal of the SDGs [Responsibility to Create, Responsibility to Use] is to realize a sustainable consumer-producer society. Activating the recycling of feathers will not only reduce CO2 emissions generated during incineration, but also curb the consumption of down (new feathers), which has become increasingly difficult to secure in recent years due to rising global demand, and will enable us to have a domestic supply system for down that is less susceptible to bird breeding conditions and disease. *Animal Welfare Feathers are collected as a byproduct from waterfowl raised for food. Live hand plucking, which has been banned in the European Union due to problems with this method of collection, involves the collection of feathers from live birds several times over. Incorporating recycled feathers into our daily lives will contribute to animal welfare by helping to reduce the opportunities for live hand plucking. |

役割を終えた羽毛製品から取り出した羽毛(ダウン)を除塵・洗浄・高温乾燥して精製・再生したリユース羽毛のことで、環境にも動物にもやさしい、安心してお使いいただけるサスティナブル素材です。
REREXダウンのキレイさを示す清浄度は1500mm以上。

◆羽毛の再資源化

日本で羽毛を再生することの強みとは、エコであるというだけではありません。
硬水の多い海外で洗われ輸入されてきた羽毛は、粒子の細かい日本の軟水で細部まで洗われることで、よりキレイな状態で再生可能となります。
お布団や衣類を長く使用していると、油脂分(においのもと)・損傷した羽毛・ホコリや雑物などが羽毛から分離するため、これらをしっかりと除去。
洗浄後は高温で一気に乾燥させふんわりとした仕上がりに。

SDGsの12番目の目標「つくる責任、つかう責任」には、持続可能な消費生産社会の実現があります。
羽毛の再資源化を活発化させることは、焼却時に発生するCO2排出量の削減だけでなく、近年世界的な需要の高まりで確保の難しくなってきている羽毛（新毛）の消費を抑制し、鳥の飼育状況や病気などにも左右されにくい羽毛の供給体制を国内に持つことになります。
◆アニマルウェルフェア

羽毛は食用として飼育される水鳥から副産物として採取されます。
この採取の手法として問題視され、EU圏では禁止となったライブハンドプラッキングは、生きた鳥から数度にわたり羽毛を採取するものです。
私たちの生活に再生羽毛を取り込んでいくことは、このライブハンドプラッキングの機会減少を促進するため、アニマルウェルフェアへの貢献へと繋がります。
