| The winter combat jacket was developed mainly for armored units and was also called the tankers jacket because it was often worn by tank soldiers. The Tankers jacket was also worn by officers and enlisted men of other branches of the military, and because of its high level of protection against the cold, some of these jackets were also used as flight jackets.
