Description
[Seto ware Oribe series] This is a series of Oribe ware made in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. The deep green color, iridescent luster, and shading caused by the natural flow of the glaze give this pottery a rich flavor. [Recommended Use] Sashimi, hors d'oeuvres, fried food, etc. [Point:Careful soil selection]. Shigaraki clay, which goes well with Oribe ware, is used to express colors and luster that cannot be achieved with other types of clay. [Point: Luster created by a little effort]. The addition of the "astringent removal" process, in which the fired ware is soaked in hydrochloric acid water, removes the tarnish and gives the ware a beautiful luster. |
