Nordic Finnish Ornaments *mobile *traditional decoration Himmeli Straw material only *Yu-packet delivery is only available for customers who purchase this item alone. Himmeli Himmeli is a Finnish term for a mobile made of polyhedral decorations made of straw, as the dictionary says "Straw mobile". The history of the himmeli dates back to around 1150, when they were made from the straw that was available during the off-season for farm work. Himmelie, which originated in the countryside, has transcended the waves of time and can still be found in Finnish homes and on store displays. [Himmel, which is derived from the Swedish word for "heaven," has long been used as a decoration for Joulu, the winter solstice in late December, when the birth and harvest festivals of the sun god are celebrated. They are made at the winter solstice to welcome the sun god and burn them on the summer solstice. The octahedron is made by threading a cord through wheat straw and developing it in various ways to create an original and modern mobile. The rotating Hinmeri makes one feel the flow of the wind. Feel the light through the shadows cast by the shimmering hinmeri. The Himmelie swaying on the eaves of the roof or on the windowsill gives you a relaxing feeling. Once you get used to it, you can make your own original himmeri by combining polygonal shapes! *This product is only available in straw. *The straw may have some unevenness in color, bends, or cracks. Please understand that these are characteristics of natural materials. *Hinmeri can be easily assembled by connecting polyhedrons. We recommend that you purchase the book "Traditional Finnish Decorations: Hinmeri", which contains instructions on how to make various types of hinmeri. ___________________________________________ [[Nordic Goods Scandinavian goods|Scandinavian interior design|Scandinavian design|Scandinavian ornaments|Mobile Scandinavian|Handmade kits handmade kit|handmade goods|handmade goods|birthday gift|birthday present|valentine's gift|valentine's goods|christmas gift|Christmas gift|New life|New life support ] |
