Hasami-yaki is ceramics produced in Hasami-cho, Higashisonogi-gun, Nagasaki Prefecture. It was also called Imari-yaki during the Edo period (1603-1867) and Arita-yaki during the Meiji period (1868-1912), due to the location of its shipment. Hasami-cho in Nagasaki Prefecture is adjacent to Arita-cho in Saga Prefecture, and like Arita-yaki, Hasami-yaki ceramics have a tradition of over 400 years. Indigo] is said to be the first dye in human history. The design allows you to taste the blotting and the handprints of Japanese and indigo dyeing.
