Description
*Book [Francis *Harr [Life is with images]]* In commemoration of the exhibition [Hamajiro Sato, Ferenc and Haar] at Convenience Store Collotype Gallery, we are pleased to announce the publication of Francis Haar's [Life with Images] (Supervisor: Tom Haar). This book is a translation of the memoirs included in Hahl's book [A Lifetime of Images], which is a compilation of Hahl's work. Born in a small town in southeastern Hungary, Haar moved to Paris and then to Japan after being forced to flee the ravages of World War II. Although he moved to Honolulu in his later years, his exceptional talent and destiny led him to introduce Japanese culture to the world through his images. Through this book, written in Haar's own words, we hope you will enjoy the story of his life and his thoughts on "documenting" Japan, which is truly an extraordinary life story. Table of Contents *Introduction *Hungary, 1908-1937 *Paris, 1937-1939 *Japan, 1940-1960 *Chicago, 1956-1959 *Hawaii, 1960-1997 *Appendix Afterword: Background of Haar's visit to Japan ( 1.
