Kuniyoshi Utagawa Born in Edo (present-day Tokyo) between 1797 and 1861, Kuniyoshi Utagawa made his debut in the art world at the age of 14, and was active in a wide range of fields, including landscapes, paintings of beautiful women, paintings of actors, paintings of flowers and birds, and paintings of warriors. He had a frank and open personality and left many anecdotes behind. He was also active as a caricaturist. His representative works are [Famous Places in the Eastern Capital] and [Thirty-two Scenes from the Modern Era]. |

歌川国芳（うたがわ くによし）
寛政9〜文久元年（1797〜1861）、江戸生まれ。14歳で画壇デビューを果たし、風景画・美人画・役者絵・花鳥画・武者絵など、幅広い作域で活躍。性格が豪放淡白で逸話を多く残す。風刺画家としても活躍。代表作は『東都名所』『当世三十弐相』。
