Description
*A5 letterhead [National Treasure, Caricatures of Beasts and Animals], Monkey chase*. Heian period, Lent by Kozanji temple. This product uses Arjowiggins stationery brand paper [Conqueror] from England for the text, and is recommended for those who seek a smooth and comfortable writing experience. The characters of the Birds and Beasts caricatures, expressed in chic dark indigo, will gently add color to the sender's playful spirit, and can be used for any occasion. * Work introduction * National Treasure [Caricatures of Birds, Beasts, and Humans], Heian - Kamakura period, Lent by Kozan-ji Temple This is a picture scroll consisting of four scrolls, A, B, C, and D. The first scroll is a caricature of anthropomorphic figures. Scroll A is the most popular among the four scrolls, as it depicts anthropomorphic animals in a spontaneous manner. The author of the scroll is said to be the Toba priest Kakuyu (1053-1140), but there is no proof, and various theories exist. Recent research has revealed that the order of the paintings has been changed since the original. It is thought that this is because they were originally divided into two volumes and then joined together. Kozan-ji Temple Official Certification Our [Caricatures of Birds, Beasts, and Humans] series has been commercialized with the permission of Kozanji Temple (Kyoto), where the works are kept. A portion of the purchase price will be donated to Kozanji Temple to The money is used for the preservation of the temple's cultural assets and for the maintenance of the temple grounds. |
