*Picture postcard [Nomichi] by Ikeda Harumura, NA-060*. By Ikeda Harumura, 1969, Kurashiki Municipal Museum of Art [The motif of this postcard is butterflies, and the colors are spring-like. Through the postcards, you can feel the arrival of spring in the palm of your hand. Harumon Ikeda Japanese-style painter born in Kurashiki City between 1895 and 1988. Graduated from the Kyoto College of Painting. He first studied Western-style painting at Matsubara Sangoro's Tensai Gajuku, but later switched to Japanese-style painting and joined Takeuchi Seiho's Takezekai. Influenced by Tomita Keisen, he developed his own style of painting with brightly colored landscapes based on the bird's eye view method. He formed Suimeikai with Uemura Shoko and others, Negi-Seisha with Hamada Kan and others, and organized Seitosha, a painting school, to train younger artists. Served as a judge for the New Bunten and Nitten exhibitions. Advisor to the Nitten* Member of the Art Academy. He was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit. Received the Order of Cultural Merit. Died in 1988 at the age of 93. His representative works are [Snow in Osaka] and [Wave]. |

池田遥邨(いけだ ようそん)
明治28〜昭和63年(1895〜1988)、倉敷市出身の日本画家。 京都絵専卒。初め松原三五郎の天彩画塾で洋画を学ぶが、のち日本画に転向、竹内栖鳳の竹杖会に入門する。 冨田渓仙の影響を受けた鳥瞰図法による明るい色彩の風景画で独自の画境を開く。 上村松篁らと水明会を、浜田観らと葱青社を結成、また画塾青塔社を主催し後進の育成にあたる。 新文展・日展審査員を歴任。日展顧問・芸術院会員。文化功労者。文化勲章受章。昭和63年(1988)歿、93才。 代表作は『雪の大阪』『波』
