| The butt-friendly seat cushion was developed to make sitting as comfortable as possible for those who experience pain in the groin joints and other parts of the body. It has a special structure for those who have hip or buttock pain or unstable posture after sitting for a long time. This seat cushion, which reduces this problem, is also used at many welfare facilities. It stabilizes posture even in a car. [About Platz] Platz Co., Ltd. was established in Nishijin in the 1887's and set up store in Saga-Arashiyama when the processing factory was relocated. Platz's handmade cushions have been featured in anan, Sarai, Figaro Japon, etc.... Our handmade zabuton have been introduced in many magazines, TV, FM, AM, etc., and are also used in temples, shrines, and famous ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurants) throughout Japan. 【プラッツのお座布団】
自然素材の心地良さにこだわって、
温もりのあるものづくりを目指しています。
座布団は畳に由来します。古代の畳は寝具と座具の両方を兼ねており、身分や権威を表す物で、その座具としての部分が座布団の原型ともいえる茵（しとね）へと発達していきました。
鎌倉時代になると、綿の輸入の再開と、生産技術の向上により、側地に布を使うようになり、江戸中期頃には生地の中に綿を入れたほぼ現在の形になりました。しかし庶民に普及したのは、大正時代になってからのことです。
