| [The shaft is made of aromatic cherry wood.] Cherry wood is a durable wood with excellent water resistance and extremely low tendency to distort. This characteristic has long been used to make woodblocks for ukiyo-e woodblocks, rulers, and picture frames. Another feature of cherry wood is that it becomes shiny when polished. The cherry trees used in this product were grown in Gastrock's own forests. The trunk of the young cherry tree is used as it is, not the branches, making this a truly luxurious product. It is a unique episode of Gastrock to start from growing a tree to make a walking stick. [The grip is made of beech.] The grip part is made of beech wood with a strong grain. Beech wood is often used for Scandinavian furniture such as tables and chairs because of its durability and beauty, and was also used for ski boards in the past because of its resistance to breakage. Beech wood is actually a very peculiar and difficult material to handle. Gastrock spends three years drying the beech wood in-house to ensure that it is of the highest quality, with a high degree of tenacity and resistance to breakage. The uneven grain is one of the characteristics of the wood, which no two pieces are alike. The grip of this product is 13.5 mm in length and is especially recommended for men.
