*About Cutahuya Pottery*. Kütahya (Kütahya) is located in western Turkey. The pottery industry has flourished in Turkey since ancient times, and many types of pottery, including tiles for palace decoration Many of them were produced until around the 16th century. Most of them were made in Iznik, a city in western Turkey, until around the 16th century, and are called Iznik tiles. Iznik tiles are one of Turkey's representative traditional crafts, painted with traditional Turkish patterns of flowers such as tulips and motifs of plants and trees. The technique of Iznik tiles was transferred to Kütahya from the late 16th century to the 17th century onward, and Kütahya, like Iznik, became known as a city of ceramics, as many types of ceramics, including Iznik tiles, were produced in Kütahya. Kytahya pottery is characterized by traditional motifs with a delicate impression, drawn in bright colors with fine flowing lines and dots. |
