*Seiichi Horiuchi  [Portrait of Music] Collotype Portfolio*.

To commemorate the publication of Seiichi Horiuchi's book "Portrait of Music," Convenience Store has produced a portfolio of six selections from the book. The paintings depict classical composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Satie, and Stravinsky. A special essay for this portfolio by Shuntaro Tanikawa, a poet and friend of Mr. Horiuchi, was also printed using the same technique. The outer box case features the title in French and an illustration of a Paris street corner, given that Mr. Horiuchi lived in Paris for many years.

*What is collotype*?
While offset printing, a common printing method, expresses colors and shading with a density of small dots, collotype expresses them with continuous gradation, allowing for more realistic and precise detail, just like a photograph.

Seiichi Horiuchi
Born in Mukojima, Tokyo in December 1932, Horiuchi joined the advertising department of Isetan at the age of 14. 23 years old, he participated in the establishment of Ad Center and directed corporate advertisements, fashion shows, and the fashion pages of [Weekly Heibon] and [Heibon Punch], and at the same time began illustration and picture book work. 1958 saw the publication of his first picture book [ In 1969, he became independent and served as art director for the first issue of Anne Anne, and from 1974, he lived with his family in the suburbs of Paris and traveled throughout Europe. His works are now managed by his family's company, Horiuchi Office, which continues to publish his works and hold exhibitions.

*The Mini Portfolio Series is a series that focuses on size and set contents so that users can easily enjoy photographic works with the expressive power that only Collotype can offer. Each set contains 8 x 10" sheets of collotype prints, which can be held in your hand and admired one at a time, or framed as a beautiful addition to your home decor.
